Environmental Policy

The objectives

ACTS S.p.A. adopts this environmental policy as a tool for declaring its will and its commitment towards the control, reduction and, where possible, elimination of the negative effects on the environment of its organisation’s activities.

ACTS S.p.A. considers it essential that its activities must be oriented, in addition to economic development, also to respect for the environment and the correct use of natural resources according to the principle of protection of a common good which is, precisely, the environment (principle of sustainability ).

Among the objectives of ATTI S.p.A. therefore, there is an increase in the quality level of its processes and products, through an effective management of resources, whether they are human, technological and economic, to improve environmental performance with a view to progressively reducing the impact on the environment.

The commitment

The Company’s commitment to achieving the general objectives set out in this Environmental Policy is expressed through the following directives:

  • Ensure the involvement of all personnel in the implementation of the Environmental Policy, through correct information, training and involvement of employees which allows them to increase the level of sensitivity and effectiveness for environmental protection in carrying out the assigned tasks;
  • Carry out constant monitoring of compliance with the obligations assumed for legislative and regulatory provisions, as well as on a voluntary basis, on environmental matters and applicable to the company, ensuring compliance over time;
  • Pursue the continuous improvement of environmental performance, to prevent or eliminate pollution and, if this is deemed impossible, reduce the production of polluting substances to a minimum, in the awareness of the attention paid to the operational continuity of the company by its bearers of interest;

The norms

We adopt rules of correct management of activities in order to:

  • evaluate in advance the environmental effects of all new activities;
  • monitor the quality of the atmospheric emissions generated by the processes;
  • analyze and optimize the consumption of raw materials, water and energy resources, taking into account, where economically feasible, the possibility of using less impactful technologies;

  • evaluate, control and, where possible, reduce noise inside and outside the site;

  • take the necessary measures to prevent accidental emissions of materials, in particular as regards the pollution of water bodies and the soil;
  • periodically evaluate, through environmental audits, the efficiency of the environmental management system and its effectiveness with respect to the objectives established in the environmental policy;
  • prevent, through the constant surveillance of the activities, the onset of non-compliance with the obligations undertaken and intervene for their prompt treatment;
  • cooperare con le Autorità pubbliche per stabilire ed aggiornare procedure di emergenza, al fine di ridurre al minimo gli effetti di qualsiasi impatto accidentale nell’ambiente che si verificasse;
  • inform and involve Suppliers, Customers and other stakeholders, as applicable to specific relationships, about the identified environmental aspects, objectives and progress in the environmental field by sensibly assessing the needs and requests of the stakeholders themselves (stakeholders) opening a constructive dialogue with them;
  • put in place measures to ensure that Contractors working on site on behalf of the company apply environmental standards equivalent to those of ATTI spa.
